3’ end UTRs are involved in various regulatory mechanisms like mRNA stability, gene expression and the differentiation potential of the cells. Alternative polyadenylation (APA) plays a crucial role in bringing about these cellular programs by creating variant isoforms of transcripts, which effects the gene expression. As the complete mechanism of APA yet remains enigmatic we are interested to understand the various elements involved in it to understand their potential that execute the mechanism of APA leading to various molecular changes in a cell. This in a broader perspective contributes to normal health and disease.
