Dear all,
our symposium „Tumor immune escape and resistance (TIMER)“ of the EFIS-IL Study Group is approaching (8th to the 9th of October 2019). We would like to remind you of that event, which will take place at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Steintor-Campus, Adam-Kuckhoff-Str. 35, 06108 Halle, Lecture Hall 1 starting from 9 a.m. at the 8th of October.
We are looking forward to appearing in large numbers in Halle!

----------
In cooperation with the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) and the working group of Tumor Immunology of the German Society of Immunology, we will perform the small international symposium on „Immune escape and immune resistance“ in cooperation with Lorenzo Galluzzi (Weill Cornell Medical College, New York) and Ofer Mandelboim (Hadassah University, Jerusalem). This will be the first symposium of a series, which will take place from the 8th to the 9th of October 2019 in Halle (Saale), while the second symposium will be held at the Hadassah University in Jerusalem (2020) and the third one in 2021 at Inserm in Paris.
This symposium will focus on the one hand on the characterization of the underlying molecular mechanisms of immune escape of tumors, which will be at the level of tumor cells, the (tumor) microenvironment, the microbiome as well as peripheral immune cells, while on the other hand the development of resistances against (immuno)therapies will be discussed. Both topics have recently become important due to the limited response of diverse immunotherapies. Therefore, novel results from basic research on immune escape and resistances as well as results from clinical (immuno)therapeutic trials and their mechanisms leading to limited responses will be discussed during these both days.
The event will take place at the Martin Luther University / “Steintor Campus” / Adam-Kuckhoff-Straße 35, 06108 Halle (Saale)/ Lecture Hall I (see attachment and this link: https://www.campus-halensis.de/artikel/angekommen-am-steintor-campus/ ). We scheduled the program for the two days between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
