The research training tasks of the RU5433 aim to provide an RTG-like infrastructure, termed the RNA in Focus Research Training Academy (RIF-RTA). The scientific staff involved in this RU will mainly comprise of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. In addition, we plan to integrate medical students (MDs) into the research and training concept, as well as clinician scientists. Via the RIF-RTA, the coordination project (P10) will provide a training framework for these early career scientists, including a mentoring program dedicated to help establish and consolidate an independent scientific career. Next to ensuring structured graduate training, the RIF-RTA will install a framework to expedite collaborative research efforts between the three locations (Frankfurt, Halle, and Leipzig). These efforts will substantially benefit from the successful implementation of virtual meeting concepts during the COVID19 pandemic.
