Promotion

  • Beginn:
    2019
  • Thema:
Respiratory tract infections during first two years of life – results from LoewenKIDS birth cohort
  • Beschreibung:
Respiratory tract infections (RTI) are particularly common in children, but most are self-limiting and the risk for hospitalization is low. However, accurate information about the disease course and causing pathogens of RTIs in children are essential to estimate the real burden. The aim of this study is to describe the pattern of viruses associated with respiratory symptoms in healthy, young children. The prospective LoewenKIDS birth cohort study (LINK) provides excellent data on development of RTIs and symptom burden to answer this research question in detail.
