Clinical trials and clinical research in the Department of Internal Medicine IV

We are examining new medications and therapy concepts in the scope of clinical trials in cooperation with large prospective national and international institutions. Common goal of these trials is the continuing improvement of therapeutic options for our patients.

The aim of these clinical trials is to improve the treatment results of patients by offering new medications that have been extensively tested and comply with the latest research standards, but have not been registered yet. These medications have already passed an extensive security process in combination with standard therapies.

Our department of Internal Medicine IV is participating in various national and international clinical trials. Some important trials have been initiated and organized by our Department. Our main focus in clinical trials are AML-trials as well as trails for gastrointestinal tumors; e.g. colon carcinoma.

The organization and treatment will be supervised by well trained and experienced physicians and nurses. A special set up Phase I/ II unit will also supervise trials that are being implemented on an outpatient basis.
