The Core Facility Imaging

The Core Facility Imaging (CFI) of the Martin Luther University offers a range of imaging and quantification solutions for life science research. We provide access to high resolution and high-throughput (live cell) microscopy, infrared scanning, FACS analyses and real-time PCR techniques to academic and non-academic user. The CFI was established via funds of the BMBF and expanded via local, federal and EU funding.

The Core Facilty Imaging is registered as a Research Infrastructure of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and is available at the RIsources portal and part of the German BioImaging Netzwerks.

“Cost absorption of light microscopy usage in equipment centers by the DFG”

More and more German universities and research facilities have established equipment centers to enable an economic use of the cost-intensive infrastructure and scientific support at ambitious projects. The DFG takes this development into account and has expanded the guidelines for the application for usage costs on the highly developed light microscopy in March 2012. Usage costs for light microscopy can also consequently be estimated in the context of all DFG grant applications. For more information click here (text in German).
